So the Moon Beach crew have been visiting over mid April to lots of our favourite spots all over Simeulue Island with some lucky guests scoring a secret Slab we call spot x!
Sneaking some fun smallish Dylan’s sets on the returning afternoons.
As well, trips to Thailand’s surfed great, backing up the next day scoring Teabags with Josh’s fast boat making for a fun day with comfort for all.
Then it was back in the wagons for a day trip to escape the wind and once again finding very nice waves head high and long walls!
By this time everyone was pretty surfed out and had a couple lazy days just surfing local breaks and chilling between a few small isolated thunderstorms.
May arrived with a few good peak sessions and local beach breaks on the tides and everyone was frothing with the new swell on the horizon and we weren’t let down with big clean peak conditions for days.
There were a couple of small Dylan’s sessions but with the direction of swell most were going straight past and hitting for prefect solid Challenging Peak.
The Teabag turned on again and unfortunately one of the boys hurt his ankle, but most days consisted of good Peak and or beach small Dylan’s and some golf and sting pong late afternoons back at the resort.
The swell kind of dropped out but was perfect for the up surfing group from Raglan for their twin trips of surf coaching clinics and everyone was pretty stoked.
They had a great variety of waves to tune their skills over the 2 weeks, Thailand’s Enor reef and the beachies and some nice Peak were the go to of choice.
B Dogs is a secret wave of ours that has had some attention over the last months with favouring winds and no crowds whatsoever only the Moon Beach crew each time, making many great memories for the guests who were lucky enough to put on the blind fold haha.
As I write we have just had an increasing South swell which on the charts looks solid! Last night we scored a very nice 3 foot Dylan’s with only a few people out and our new guests from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland opening their trip on really nice Dylan’s.
